Community and History - Ozanam Hall Rehabilitation and Nursing Home
As a young
Sister, Mother Angeline recognized a great and growing need to provide care and
comfort for the world's aging, and often infirm, population. Acting upon her
faith, Mother Angeline made her vision a reality by establishing this mission
of care and service for the elderly.
Founded in 1929 by Blessed Mother Mary Angeline Teresa McCrory The
Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm is a Congregation committed to caring
for this population.
Ozanam Hall was opened in 1971 and we have been providing care ever since. Located in Bayside, Queens, New York we are a 432 bed facility, which is administered by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm. The fabric of the Carmelite Mission is woven throughout the facility which is bound together by the strength and guidance of Mother Angeline. The home is named for Frederic Ozanam, a 17th century lawyer and philosopher known for his charitable works such as the founding of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
